Feast of Tabernacles — 2011

We are getting ready to start the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles. Every year, for about a month, we have a very special time of services and teaching, worship and fellowship, and a lot of fun with the entire family.

The Feast of Tabernacles starts with the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) on September 28th. That same day begins the Ten Days of Repentance. On October 7th, we celebrate the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). The Feast of Tabernacles itself (Succoth) starts on October 12th and ends on October 21st.

During this whole season we try to leave the normalcy of our lives and remember the period in which Israel lived in the wilderness, beholding the presence of God daily. This is the expression of our expectation for the Kingdom of God and to a life in His presence. “‘I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.” (Leviticus 26:12, NASB95)

This is a video from our Tabernacles celebration last year. We had a good time and at the end of the Feast we had a fun camping weekend and an awesome time together! We love the Feast of Tabernacles!
