True Worshipers

But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.”  John 4:23

I love this scripture so much. Every time I read it I think of King David and how honest he was in his expression of worship to our Father. He truly worshiped with his spirit, soul and body and he had a very real expression.  I think that the honesty we see David express in his Psalms is the truth in the relationship with God that we need to go after.

I have learned from my spiritual parents that we must worship no matter the circumstance, and that if something is particularly difficult we must bleed worship. We must never turn our hearts away from God. We must seek to know Him as He already knows us. So when I worship in the spirit I can feel  a closeness to God’s heart, and it is addicting.

In Portuguese we have a saying that goes like this “Quem canta, seus males espanta” which means The one who sings, scares away evil. I love that! If I am having a bad day, I find a way to clean my house while singing worship songs aloud and it feels like a natural and spiritual cleansing.

More and more I realize I can discipline my spirit to be in worship all the time, but I particularly love to worship in our services with the whole congregation or at home while doing my chores! It truly is a life style to be in a state of worship and to take control of my atmosphere and practice the presence of God.

Let’s sing praises out loud as much as we can and make sure we open our hearts in total honesty while doing it. It is an awesome and life changing practice!

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! Psalms 150:6
