Once again we are anticipating the period of celebration of the biblical feasts that culminates with the Feast of Tabernacles. Every year, following the Jewish calendar, we have a very special time of fellowship where we have services, teaching, worship, and a lot of fun with the entire family.
The period of the Feast of Tabernacles starts with the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) on September 24th. That same day begins the Ten Days of Repentance. On October 3rd, we celebrate the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). The Feast of Tabernacles itself (Succoth) starts on October 8th and ends on October 15th.
During this whole season we break the routines of our lives and remember the period in which Israel lived in the wilderness, beholding the presence of God daily. This is an expression of our expectation for the Kingdom of God, a life in His presence. “I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people” (Leviticus 26:12).
This is a time to bring to life the spiritual meaning of the Biblical Feasts that find their fulfillment in our Lord Jesus Christ. “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
