There were several times throughout Christ’s ministry where He received an impartation of God’s spirit and love. (Matt 3:16-17, Matt 17:5) These experiences equipped Him to do the will of His Father. The disciples were likewise equipped in order to fulfill the commission they received in Matt 28:19-20 to make disciples of the nations. In Luke 24:29 Jesus told them to stay in the city until they were clothed with power from on high. In Acts they received the Holy Spirit and, after that, they fulfilled their commissioning and many great signs and wonders followed.
We too have a destiny in God to fulfill. He is coming to be glorified in His saints (2 Thes 1:10). As we approach Pentecost, we believe for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which is an expression of God’s love that equips us to walk out His will. We take down our walls and open up to receive His love and power and “to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God” (Eph 3:18-19). It will be a people who are filled to all the fullness of God that will be the answer that the earth is looking for.
Hale O Nā Kāula Church will hold special services in observance of the Feast of Pentecost on Saturday, May 23 at 7:30 PM; and on Sunday, May 24 at 9:30 AM.
