God is looking for us to be His worshippers, but we don’t do anything without discipline. We must set our will on God and discipline ourselves to pray and worship. We invite the Holy Spirit to enable us so that it is not just a mechanical ritual but an expression of our relationship with the Father and a meaningful offering to the Lord. Eliminate the distractions so you can enter into deeper worship.
1 Timothy 2:8 paints a beautiful picture of how our worship should be. “Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.” If we are distracted by dissension, our worship will not be an acceptable offering to the Lord. “If you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering” (Matthew 5:23-24).
We must learn how to forgive our brothers and enter into this pure worship with no division or dissension. This true worship will transcend our faith and be acceptable to God. He wants clean hands, free of division and bonds. Holy Spirit help us so we can worship in purity.
