In this season of thanksgiving it is so important for us to find a place of solitude to meditate on the Word of God. It is important to stop and give thanks to God for His unconditional love for us. As I was taking this time for myself, I came across these verses from the book of Jude “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith; praying in the Holy Spirit; keep yourselves in the love of God.”
These verses are a great reminder to us. We need to keep our hearts afresh in the love of God and, from that, blessings and thanksgiving will flow. If we do not watch over our hearts and instead become overexposed to worldly things, our natural tendency is to become critical and bitter. Then we are disconnected from God, for He is love, it is His very nature.
Let’s be encouraged to take time and wait on God, and be immersed in His living Word and not forget to be thankful for all things. Keeping ourselves in the love of God is the key for us right now. Let this be our prayer “Father, let nothing diminish my love for You or for my neighbor at this time. I am going to keep myself in Your love. Father, give us Your heart; give us Your spirit.”
Have a blessed thanksgiving!
