Parable: The Soil and The Stages of Discipleship

Today I bring a relatable perspective to the parable in Matthew 13:3. As humans, we are the soil. Although there is nothing wrong with the soil, there are outside influences which keep the soil from bearing fruit. As we grow in discipleship, our soil will become more fruitful.

Parable: We are All Managers

Today I teach about the parable in Luke 16:1-13. God’s grace is unending and He desires a relationship with us no matter how great our sins. If we know God’s grace, we are managers responsible to share it. Micah 7:18 “Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity And passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in unchanging love.”

The Sacred Writings That Lead to Salvation

I have been studying and researching the references of the Old Testament used by the writers of the New Testament. It is really important to remember that the Early Church did not have the complete bible, but only the Hebrew Scriptures. The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy about the importance of the “sacred writings” that “lead to salvation.” You, however, …

Biblical Feasts – Open My Mind to a Deeper Understanding

Today I begin to explain why we celebrate the Biblical Feasts. If you dig into the New Testament you will see many references to the Feasts, as it describes how Jesus celebrated them. When we celebrate the Feasts, we are not just celebrating something that happened in the past, we are anticipating a greater fulfillment of the scriptural promises in our generation.

The Feast of Tabernacles – 2018

We are approaching the period of the Feast of Tabernacles; it starts with the Feast of Trumpets and Rosh Hashanah on September 10th. That same day begins the Ten Days of Repentance. On September 19th, we celebrate the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). The Feast of Tabernacles itself (Succoth) starts on September 24th and ends on September 30th. As a …

Parable: What am I Doing with My Talents

Today I explain the parable of the talents from Matthew 25:14. We have been given many talents from the Lord, it is our responsibility to manage those talents. We won’t see growth if we hide our talents, we must put them to good use and share them with others.

Our Words Are Powerful

There is a saying in ancient Hawaii which says that words can either be a source of healing or destruction. This is so true, and we need to be careful with our words. Ka ‘olelo no ke ola, i ka ‘olelo no ka make. It means: In speech is life, in speech is death. A friend sent me this and …

What Are You Equipped For?

Today I speak about the importance of us becoming equipped to walk according to God’s will. Colossians 3:16-17 “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”

May the Lord bless and keep you!

This summer I heard for the first time a beautiful song from Numbers 6:23-27,  the Aaronic Benediction or also known as the Priestly Blessing. It was sung in English and in Hebrew by a young woman who has a sweet voice, Lindsey Hertzberg. The song was composed by Misha Goetz. I had heard the same blessing voiced before, but the …

A New Perception of God’s Love

Today I inspire us to receive a new perception of God’s love for us. God is preparing each one of us for something new, but it cannot happen out of our human perception of love. There is a motivation in God’s love to see us grow and mature, so we can participate in the bringing forth His kingdom.

Miracle Provision Through Relationships

Today I expound on the story in 1 Kings 17. Even though Elijah was a prophet, he could not solve his own problems. He had to rely on the miracle God provided through the poor widow. We need to get out of our comfort zone and appropriate the provision God has given us through relationships.

The Father is Knocking, Open the Door

Today I link the parable of the prodigal son to Revelation 3:20. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” The prodigal son was free to make his own choice but the father delighted when he chose to come home. Similarly God will never force us to open the door to His love but is eager to dwell with us when we choose to let Him into our lives.

The Truth Sets You Free

Last Summer I was happy to celebrate my graduation from Shiloh University with a Master of Divinity degree. It took me several years, numerous classes, books, and hundreds of hours. However, my desire to study and learn did not stop with the graduation. Achieving a degree was never my main goal. My goal was, and continues to be, always focused …

Bring the Word of God to Life

Seeds have an amazing ability to retain and preserve their quality and ability to reproduce and multiply. Seeds kept for years still retain the same untouched qualities they had generations past. I have heard of some 2,000-year-old seeds that germinated. They can not only reproduce the same DNA—the qualities of what they are—but they can reproduce it in great quantity. …

Make Us Lovers of the Truth

Today I relate our anticipation for Pentecost with our hunger for the truth. The Holy Spirit was not sent for the disciples’ personal gain, but to enable them to walk in their commissioning. We cannot miss what God is doing because it does not happen the way we thought it would.

The Feast of Pentecost – 2018

After the first Passover in Egypt the people of Israel camped in the desert, a time where God made a covenant with the people of Israel (Deuteronomy 4:12-14). When God gave Moses the law, one of the feasts He instructed them to celebrate was known as the Feast of Weeks (Leviticus 23:15-17). Immediately following the Passover, the priest was to …

How Do You Relate to God?

Some people think that they have all the control over their lives and that they can achieve anything that they want because of their intelligence, strength, abilities, and talents. Those people forget that they were blessed with each one of the gifts that they rely on. Any of the talents or strengths that we think we have, we have actually …

Ask for a Deeper Revelation

Today I speak about our need to have a daily revelation of the Lord. The disciples knew Christ, but when he appeared on the road to Emmaus after His resurrection they did not recognize him. We cannot be satisfied with a revelation or an experience from the past. We pray everyday for our daily bread, a fresh and new revelation and experience with God.

Becoming Channels of God’s love

Lately, I have been praying  for God to give me His love for my family, my community and people on my street in a deeper way. This desire started when we received a direction to start a coffee and prayer ministry and just be available to whoever is in need of a blessing. The idea was simple: set up a …
