The word for “hearing” in the Greek and Hebrew also means “to obey.”
Most of us need to repent of being hearers of the Word only. There is only one way to reveal the Lord to the world, and that is to be an example. But to be an example, we have to obey the Word. We have to be the epistles read and known of all men. (II Cor. 3:2)
I want to end our lack of response to the Word. When you buy a new gadget, like a phone, you have to follow the instructions to make it work. The promises of God are exactly the same way! We need a spiritual hunger to follow the instructions God is giving us.
Remember the Scripture: “If you know these things you are blessed if you do them.” (John 13:17)
